| this is an old pic.... i'll put it a new one when i've got it done |
The blackboard is a nice place to visit, lots of info & interesting discussion topics.
My first bow was Hoyt GM sold to me by a retiring friend. It came complete with a soft bowcase & everything... except for the limbs, :-( i had to use a borrowed 66" 42# for a while. I got my present Radian riser & 68" 44# carbon limbs during the 10th Asia Archery Tournament 1997 in Langkawi, Malaysia. I bought it from an Uzbekistan archer.(it's still a 2nd-hand bow but what the heck...! it's cheap... :-))
I also use shibuya button, ProGold extension bar with Hoyt stabilisers & an old Arten flipper rest. The clicker is a Beiter. My sight is an Arten fitted with a fibre optic which produces a clear red dot on my sight pin, even during cloudy afternoon while wearing my shades.
I make my own string (12-strand BCY 450)as well as for my friends (I'm the unofficial club string-maker.. :-D) the strings were made on a home-made string-making jig made by myself (mentally copied from an Arten sting jig) & instructions picked up from the net(!), my arrows are 29" 570 ACE, i use Angel tab & chest-guard & a Beiter arm-guard.
Oh yeah... i shoot with my cap & shades on most of the time as Malaysia is a tropical country with an occasional tropical rain. So, the cap will protect me from the sun during sunny day & it also minimizes the amount of rain drops on my glasses during the rainy season. :-)
Nothing much to say as I'm still new in archery, I started archery around 1995 & yet to cross the 1100 pts mark. :-( slow progression, huh? but, i'm getting closer to it.
I've been to the 10th Asia Archery Tournament in 1997, not as an archer, but as a liason officer for the Japanese team & got the chance to meet with some of asia's top archers & coaches during that tournament. I was also at the Malacca International Invitation, Malaysia in 1998 where I saw Rick McKinney live in action. :-)
So far, I learn almost everything from articles posted on the net & tips from friends as we don't have any qualified archery coach in our club (archery is just a small section in my company's big sports club), but we're getting one pretty soon.
i've contructed my own web site at http://www.e-my.net.my/kl/badman
nothing much there as it's still under construction.
