| Aiming downward at a 45-50m 3D target. (Hit in the first!:) |
I'm currently using a Hoyt - Sky Hawk Recurve with 62"/40lbs.,a 18 sands Fastflite string, Yamaha Flipper Rest II and AGF Button. (I intend to increase to 50 lbs. soon.)
My arrows are made of 29" 2114 X7 Eclipse shafts, with 7% points, Beiter nocks and simple PVC fletches.
Cause I call myself a instinctive shooter (yup!), I dont
use sights, releases, stabilizers and other helps. I admit, I use a tab :).
I started autumn 1991 at the age of sweet seventeen, with a club bow and a lot of motivation. At the first time, I had some trouble to learn the right technique, but I was so lucky to "find" a really good trainer among the "Old men" in my shooting club, who showed me the beauties as well as the difficulties of archery. I owe him very much and consider him as my "Bowfather" (Hopefully, he doesnt read that:).
After two years of FITA (indoor and outdoor) shooting, I once trained at a neighbour shooting club, just before the local FITA field championships. After the training (and several beers with my friends), somebody got the idea to compete in the field tournament using "barebows". (at this time, bows without sights were very rare in my region).
It was the first time I used my Progress II without clicker, sight and stabilizers and guys: I loved it.
From this time, I dropped the outdoor FITA's and started with field and 3D tournaments instead. During winter, I improve my shooting style and compete in indoor FITA events. In 1996, I was so good to get a invitation to the German National Indoor Championships; I was the only one using a instinctive shooting style and achieved the 15th place.:)
