I started when I was 16 years old in a local archery club. I was lucky: two archery trainers took me for a trip through archery land. I started off with simple wooden bows (y’all know them), later on a crazy archer sold me a 37 lbs Samick, and yeah, I couldn’t handle it… Luckily, the retailer could exchange it for a nice Samick Progress I 30 lbs bow with Arten sight and some cheap stabilizers. I started competitive shooting, and three years later I was ready for a “real” bow: the PSE Universal was at that time one of the best buys, and I found a pair of young second-hand limbs. I bought the Easton stabilisers some time later, and I was ready for real FITA’s. At 1086 points (FITA 1440), 545 indoors (18m), and some field and 3D-tournaments, I started a course to become archery instructor. A bit later, at 19 years old, I couldn’t combine my archery hobby with my engineering studies anymore… I quit (shame on me) for about 4 years… But after graduating I took my bow back – sneezing from these piles of dust – and started again some months ago. I can tell you, four years without training have had awesome effects… I still had all the reflexes and techniques, but physically, it was a disaster… But after training hard, I got back to my old shape... Already shooting some tournaments for the moment! In the meantime, I bought a compound bow, because of the fact I really want to be able to shoot all types of bows (and of course the speed kick for fields and 3D)... The old PSE has been swapped - the incredible Bowtech (no shock ...) made its entrance. Let's see what it gives!
