|Some time ago in France......|
I read both newsgroups to keep up with current developments, there is always something new.
Although I am a recurve archer, I like the postings about every aspect of archery. What I do not like is when people lose their sense of humour and cannot see that there is room for all types of archery.
I regret that there is so much spam, especially in alt.archery, but I am afraid that's something you have to live with it.
Perhaps a mailing list would work to get a better signal to noise ratio, but I am afraid I cannot set one up.
I shoot recurve. At the moment I shoot a Samick Progress II with Royal limbs, 34 lbs @ 30.5", which I lovingly call my "Korean piece of junk". I used to shoot a Hoyt GM with Carbon+ limbs, 40lbs @ 31", but because of lack of training and a shoulder injury, I had to lay it aside. I still have it though and hope to shoot it again someday, perhaps with other, lighter limbs. If I have the money, though, I think I will go for a completely new bow. The Yamaha Eolla with Superfeel limbs looks good to me at the moment.
I shoot 2016 XX75 indoors with 4" feathers, outdoors old Beman Diva+ 21 with FFP 175's, with the Samick, of course.
My stabilisation consists of a Carbofast X2 long rod, a 4" Carbofast extender, two AGF twins with old Hoyt TFC's. I use an angled J-bar which I have put upside down, the short rods point upwards. I found this the most comfortable way to shoot.
My sight is an old, bulky K-sight, I shoot an 18 strand, Fast-Flight string, use a finger sling and an A&F platform tab. My shoe size is 46.
Started at age 12, just came across a few people shooting at a field and asked if I could also shoot. That was in 1981......
Since then, my career has gone on and of. Certain periods I shot a full season, others I only showed up at the club and shot a few arrows.
