I read through the titles of the messages looking for topic that I can "jump" in or give a helpful hand. I try to give a answer to someone that is not biased in any way. I show the pros and cons and multiple solutions on most of my messages.
Sometimes I find a topic that I find interesting or a topic that is frequently asked. So, I run to my site and add my answers to the question that was asked. If I have no clear answer or I simply so not have the experience to post something, I will start a post and hope for as many answers as possible. From this I compile the information into a new link and hope that it will help archers as it helped me.
I will not read messages that have been running on and on or messages that have anything to do with traditional archery. Not that traditional archery is below me... It's simply that I have no expertise on traditional archery and do not want to lead an archer into the wrong direction.
My archery equipent is quite simple. I shoot a Martin Lynx Magnum Speed-Flight set to 65 pounds. My arrows are 26" 2314 XX78 with carbon inserts. I shoot with a release and a fine-line sights.
This setup, I find is quite and efficient. In todays world the bows are getting faster and faster... Yet I maintain this setup because of the costs (related to the price of new bows) and because I have no need for a faster setup.
My archery history is quite breif... So this message will be breif as well.
I am a student and shoot solely for the pleasure of it. I attend few 3-D tournaments and have yet to match the scores of the top 20. That could be caused by the fact that my competion all have around 20 years of experience.
I must admit that I have never shot traditional gear. So I am totaly in the dark when it comes to teaching or helping a traditional archer. So, I do the same in newsgroups and tend to avoid traditional posts.
Archery is a sport that has been gaining velocity over the years. My only concern is the price of equipment... Bows and equipment are getting more and more expensive and being on a students budget make my choice quite simple... Keep my bow for as long as possible and hope I don't loose to many arrows.
